2007 Peru Ausangate Journey

We began our magnificent two-week expedition to the sacred sites of the Inca in the city of Cusco, Peru. This was not a journey for the meek. We traveled with Andean Medicine people who shared sacred ceremony with us at the sacred sites we visited. We retraced the shaman’s journey of power from Cuzco, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and the most sacred Mountain of the Inca people, Apu Ausangate, exploring the healing traditions of these ancient ones that still remain active even after centuries of conquest and industrialization.

The Inca achieved tremendous feats during their short history, aligning with the Life Force and practicing Ayni (reciprocity), harmonizing their society with Pachamama (Mother Nature) in the most elegant ways through daily life and ceremony. Under the guidance of the Medicine people, Denise Kinch and Pedro, we began to understand the process that connected us to each of the sacred Inca sites we worked with. Above all, this journey provided us the opportunity to achieve our own state of Ayni and, like the Paq’o or medicine person, we stepped into a synergistic relationship with the forces of the universe. This was a unique opportunity to experience an ancient tradition of power and knowledge, working with the energies of Heaven and Earth.

If there was ever a place on this beautiful earth that would make us feel connected to all, feel an internal strength and have a knowingness of pure serenity, it is Apu Ausangate. The energy of the mountain called to us. Our first vision of this magnificent, powerful mountain left us speechless. Its powerful energy vibrated through us all – into our bodies, our hearts and our souls. It removed all negativity, fear and doubt.

The mountain carried us through an amazing adventure, never feeling fearful or anxious but always feeling embraced by the protection and strength of Apu Ausangate.
